Ferulic acid has antioxidant properties which protect skin from free radicals and enhance the effects of vitamins C and E. It strengthens the action of topical sunscreens, regulating the tyrosinase activity in order to lighten unwanted pigmentations. In addition, it has a pro-apoptotic effect on cancerous cells. DNA repairing enzymes (photolyase, endonuclease, exonuclease) use photoreactivation or excision mechanisms to repair DNA. Zinc and amino acids (arginine, cystine, phenylalanine and proline) help to stabilize the DNA chain. Growth factors stimulate the activity of keratinocytes and fibroblasts (EGF, TGF-β2, GMCSF) and inhibit collagenase (TIMP-2). Retinol and retinaldehyde accelerate cellular turnover. They protect, repair and stimulate collagen synthesis, reducing wrinkles. Also, they modulate activity of altered melanocytes and even skin tone.

Cleanse skin thoroughly with Sensyses liposomal cleanser and protect sensitive areas (lips and nose wings) using an appropriate product (Silkses moisturising skin protector). Next, apply 2-3 coats of DNA Recovery peel solution massaging the area to be treated after each coat until a light white mask appears. Wait for the solution to dry after each coat application (3-5 minutes). Do not wash. Seal the treatment with 1 or 2 coats of DNA Recovery peel cream and allow to act for 6-8 hours. After this period, the patient should wash it off with plenty of water and a gentle soap. Hand out DNA Recovery post-treatment cream to the patient, to be applied every night until the next treatment.
